tour through Delhi to see two historical places ,the Redford where the five
Pandavas, associates of Sri Krishna, stayed for some time. And the, Golden
temple (a Sikh temple) In the evening we will go to have dinner together on
one of Delhi’s favorite rooftop restaurants If you then are still

We will
have an early (7am) tea, and our taxi will bring us to Vrindavan. Approximately a
ride of 2 hours. Then we check in to our pre booked accommodation and enjoy
a good breakfast. Which will be followed by a small outing, to the Jamuna
river and Mirabhai temple. Mirabhai lived in the 14th century, as the first
revolutionary female saint. She is famous for her poetry in form of
songs. All songs are dedicated to
Krishna.
After
this, we will have lunch in the hotel compound, followed by free time till
3pm. Then we are off again to visit some more temples. Also we will go to
visit Sri Neem Karoli (also lovingly called Maharaji) Babaashram. He is one
of the most important personalities in history, as it was he that guided so
many western seekers in the 60’s to health and wellbeing within themselves.
There is literature available about his life and teachings. I recommend a
book called "Miracle of Love" or “Here and Now " a book written by Baba
Ramdas, one of Maharaji’s first students. These books will put you right in
the mood for Vrindavan. There will be tee at 4.30 pm.
In the
evening,7pm till about 8pm we will attend the evening ceremony (Arati) wich
is singing and dancing....After Arati, it is possible to see some theater
performance called "Rasalila". This is a traditional show about Radha and
Krishna,s pastimes here on earth 5000 years ago. It is very
colorful and glittery .Good night and sweet dreams.
Day
3:
Meet for breakfast 7-7.30am. From the
hotel we will take some bicycle rickshaw’s and go to see the Hare Krishna
Temple of Iscon" (International Society for Krishna Consciousness.) There
is lots going on and we will need the morning to check it all out. Iskcon
has also a museum. After this is time for lunch in the compound and perhaps
a sleep. In the afternoon we take our taxi driver and let him bring us to
some more ancient temples and places. There are lots! In the evening we go
to the Jamuna river to see the evening ceremonies by the water there. It is
very beautiful to sit there by sunset and hear the locals singing and waving
a big fire lamp in honor of the River where Krishna loved to play with His
consorts. Dinner in the hotel and a sound sleep, especially because we have
an exiting outing the next early morning to Agra ,to visit the Taj Mahal.
Day 4:
Early breakfast and off we go with our
taxi to Agra about one hours ride. There we will see this most amazing
piece of architecture, in white marble and jeweled inlay, built as a token
of love from a King to his departed wife. Today this King lies next to her
forever. (More details when we are there)
After this, we will enjoy lunch in Agra and go on a little shopping spree.
There a great handicrafts to be found. Then let’s have a Chai (word for
milk tea) and back to Vrindavan. There should be enough time to refresh
before we meet again at 7pm to attend the evening music and lamp ceremony
(evening arati]in Iskcon,s white marble palace). Tt‘s time again for dinner
and a good night’s sleep.
Day 5:
Good morning! Today we will go with our
car, to the rural areas of specific pastimes of Krishna, situated near water
places and beautiful nature. A swim is always possible. Then we return to
Vrindavan for a late lunch.
If you would like the afternoon off, for your own explorations, you are
welcome. In the afternoon we will go down town to see some more temples and
may do a bit of shopping in the local bazaar. 7pm we should all meet again
to visit 2 of the most ancient and the most important temples of Radha Raman
(name of Krishna) and Bhanke Bhihari (Beloved of all) This is quite
spectacular.
Day 6:
Another outing to the other side of the Jamuna. To visit more areas in which
the Lord was so playfully exhibiting His pastimes. Vrindavan is full of
parrots and peackocks and of course Cows. Krishna loved the cows so very
much. He named them all and he called them with His flute. The cows are
sacred in India, for they are feeding us with their wonderful milk and milk
products. The locals make these still today. We will taste some of course!
In the afternoon we will visit the prison in which the Lord took birth,
from the womb of His imprisoned mother Devaki. This is in nearby (20 min)
at Mathura.
A last evening on the banks of Jamuna for
the ceremony and maybe some wishes to express in prayer and also good bye
for this time. Dinner in the hotel. There is theatre going on every
evening in this month, so if you want to see some more you can.
Day 7:
A daily traditional morning ceremony starting 4.30 am. This is early I
know, but
very magic and so we will be there to attend (optional) till 7am, where we
all meet for the “Greeting of the Lord” with music and singing for half an
hour and then breakfast before we go in our taxi back to Delhi. In Delhi we
return to our hotel to refresh and go to explore some more of this amazing
international meeting point. More sightseeing and then a good lunch. After
an hours rest or so, we go shopping for a last time. Delhi is fun for this.
After a last dinner together, we will send you off to wherever you have
planned to go from here. Some of you may need a ride to the airport.
Bhakti Tours will bring you there. Then we hope to meet you again next
year for another adventure with Bhakti Tours.
